Aboriginal Awareness:
Preparing to Integrate Aboriginal Content & Perspectives into Teaching & Learning

This one-day workshop is designed to support educators who wish to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal knowledge and culture and the implications for their work in the classroom. In this interactive workshop, participants can expect to enhance their knowledge of:

  • World view: Expanding our thinking about “what’s worth knowing”…
  • History of education and schooling for Aboriginal people
  • Treaties–Spirit and Intent
  • Working with Elders
  • Racism, stereotyping and equity
  • Impact of Residential schools
  • Hands-on activities to incorporate into your classroom

  • Non-Members: $50
